Mel is a talented litigator, a steadfast advocate, and dedicated to the mission of protecting the aging population. This promotion is a testament to Mel’s expertise, leadership and contributions to our firm.
In 2012, Mel earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri School of Law, where she was the associate-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Dispute Resolution and Vice President of the Women’s Law Association. After becoming a licensed attorney in 2012, Mel practiced at a local mid-size general practice firm where she gained invaluable litigation experience. In 2015, Mel joined the Greene County Prosecuting Attorney’s office and in 2016, she was promoted to Senior Prosecutor and was assigned to the Persons Unit where she prosecuted crimes concerning sexual abuse and elder abuse. In 2021, Mel joined Ozarks Elder Law where she has focused her practice on the areas of estate planning, elder abuse, and trust and probate litigation. Mel holds law licenses in Missouri and Texas and is proficient in Spanish. When Mel isn’t advocating for her clients, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
