Baker Sterchi Cowden & Rice is pleased to announce the addition of two attorneys in St. Louis. Jennie Simons has joined as a senior attorney, and Alena Johnston as an associate.
Simons’ practice areas include insurance coverage, toxic and mass tort, personal injury, premises liability and product liability. She has represented both individual and corporate clients in over 50 jury trials. Simons obtained her law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law and holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas. She is licensed to practice law in Missouri, Illinois and Florida.
Johnston’s practice is focused on premises liability, personal injury and insurance coverage. She earned her law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law and holds an undergraduate degree from Saint Louis University. While in law school, she served on the American Bar Association Journal of Labor and Employment Law and participated in the Saint Louis University Criminal Defense Clinic. Johnston is admitted to practice in Missouri.
St. Louis-based law firm Lewis Rice has welcomed Amelia J. Bresette to the firm as an associate. She is practicing in the Real Estate, Corporate Strategies, and Mergers & Acquisitions practice groups.
Focused on real estate law, Bresette advises clients engaged in a wide variety of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, sales, development and leasing. She regularly reviews title and survey matters as well as zoning and governmental compliance matters. In her mergers and acquisitions practice, Bresette conducts due diligence reviews, especially those related to real estate diligence, and drafts disclosure schedules, closing and ancillary documents.

Bresette earned her juris doctorate from the Washington University in St. Louis School of Law in 2022. As a student Bresette was the senior editor of Washington University Law Review and a legal intern for the Division of Enforcement of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. In this role, she conducted legal research on various securities issues; assisted in drafting, editing and revising briefs and motions; and aided with depositions and hearings.
Jennifer Matthew Crompton has joined Unglesby & Crompton as Chief Operating Officer and Trial Attorney.
Jen combines her years as a trial attorney prosecuting sex crimes, homicides, and other serious offenses along with her years of managing the ADR business of a privately held legal services company. She is also passionately involved in advocating for women’s rights and causes.
Jen will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the firm for the benefit of our clients and will help us deliver justice for individuals wrongly harmed by negligence and greed.
