Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce Jeremy M. Brenner joined the firm’s St. Louis office as a partner in the Labor and Employment practice group.
Brenner advises employers and managers on all aspects of employment law, focusing extensively on matters under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and similar state laws, and has adeptly navigated numerous U.S. Department of Labor investigations. He has successfully defended wage and hour matters in state and federal courts across the U.S., achieving favorable outcomes for misclassification, overtime, and minimum wage collective and class actions under the FLSA and other state laws.

Brenner also represents employers and managers in administrative charge processes and other contentious state and federal litigation across the country, including defending discrimination, wrongful termination, harassment, retaliation, and Family Medical Leave Act claims.

Additionally, Brenner handles employee issues that arise from mergers and acquisitions, providing guidance to both buyers and sellers at all stages of the M&A life cycle.

“Jeremy joins our robust Labor and Employment practice with an extensive HR background and a track record of success,” said Amy Mistler, Office Managing Partner for Spencer Fane in St. Louis. “His comprehensive practice and vigorous client advocacy efforts exemplify some of the best attributes of our growing team, and we look forward to the work he will do here in St. Louis and beyond.”

Brenner received his bachelor’s degree from Washington University’s Olin Business School, spending several years in merchandising and as a human resources consulting executive before later earning his Juris Doctor at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. He applies the critical experience and tools acquired throughout his diverse professional life to help clients tackle complex employment challenges, also frequently writing about and speaking on related topics.

In addition to his employment law practice, Brenner is an avid community advocate, notably serving as outside corporate counsel and outside employment counsel to several nonprofits dedicated to early education and children’s health and wellness.
