St. Louis

Shevon L. Harris-Holyfield has joined St. Louis-based law firm Lewis Rice as a member. She is practicing in the firm’s Commercial Litigation department.

For more than two decades, Harris-Holyfield owned and operated the Harris Law Firm, which focused on matters related to litigation, guardianship, conservatorship and adoption. Harris-Holyfield is returning to the firm where she started her legal career. She practiced at Lewis Rice from 1995 to 2001 after graduating from Saint Louis University School of Law.

A recognized advocate for women in leadership roles, Harris-Holyfield was invited to speak at the Power Women’s Summit in Vatican City in 2023 and in Monaco in 2022. This led to her invitation to join the Advisory Board for the Institute for Advanced Studies and Cooperation based in Vatican City. She is also a member of the Gateway Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, and she previously served on the board of Covenant House Missouri from 2016 to 2023. Throughout her legal career she has earned numerous honors including St. Louis County Family Court Guardian Ad Litem of the Year and The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis President’s Award.

 

Ryan M. Prisock has joined St. Louis-based law firm Lewis Rice as an associate. He will be practicing in the firm’s Corporate, Real Estate, and Mergers & Acquisitions practice groups.

In his real estate practice, Prisock specializes in zoning, land use development, commercial leases, and the purchase and sale of commercial, residential, and undeveloped property, including due diligence review, document drafting, and client counseling. As a corporate attorney Prisock also participates in business formation and structuring and corporate governance matters. His responsibilities include drafting critical documents such as stock power agreements, stock purchase agreements, corporate resolutions, and bylaws.

Prisock joins Lewis Rice from Amundsen Davis where he was a corporate and real estate associate. Prior to that he was a litigation associate at Thompson Coburn and at Summers Compton Wells. He brings extensive experience orchestrating company sales and purchases to Lewis Rice.

 

Stinson LLP has welcomed 13 associates to its Kansas City and St. Louis offices as part of the firm's fall associates class of 2023.

ST. LOUIS

Austin Diehl is a member of Stinson's Litigation Associates Group. He earned his J.D. from the University of Illinois in May 2023. Diehl was a Stinson summer associate in 2022.

John Sinclair is a member of Stinson's Private Business Practice Division. He earned his J.D. from Saint Louis University. Prior to joining the firm, Sinclair served as a legal extern for a St. Louis-based privately-held, family-owned supermarket retailer.

Andrew Steiner is a member of the firm's Litigation Associates Group. He earned his J.D. from Saint Louis University. He served as a Stinson summer associate in 2022.

Kansas City

Andrew Arbuckle is a member of the firm's Corporate Finance Practice Division. He earned his J.D., business and commercial law certificate and M.B.A. from the University of Kansas. Prior to joining the firm, Arbuckle served as a Stinson summer associate in 2022.

Natalie Brock is a member of Stinson's Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Division. She earned her J.D. from the University of Missouri- Kansas City. Prior to joining the firm, Brock served as a legal intern to Magistrate Judge Brian Gaddy for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri. 

Joshua Dollar is a member of the firm's Corporate Finance Practice Division. He earned his J.D. from the University of Missouri- Kansas City. Prior to joining the firm, Dollar worked as a law clerk for the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office in Kansas City, Missouri.

Daniel Foose is a member of Stinson's Litigation Associates Group. He earned his J.D. from the University of Missouri- Kansas City. Foose served as a Stinson summer associate prior to joining the firm, in addition to serving as a law clerk for a top U.S. pork producer/processor.

Taylor Harrington is a member of Stinson's Real Estate & Public Finance Practice Division. She earned her J.D. from the University of Missouri. She served as a summer associate with the firm in 2022 and 2021.

Hunter Kruse is a member of the firm's Corporate Finance Practice Division. He earned his J.D. and a business and commercial law certificate from the University of Kansas. Kruse worked as a law clerk for a variety of corporations prior to joining Stinson, including a Fortune 500 financial services firm.

Kara Luechtefeld is a member of the firm's Corporate Finance Practice Division. She earned her J.D. from the University of Missouri. Prior to joining the firm, Luechtefeld served as a legal intern to the Honorable Nanette Laughrey of the Western District of Missouri.

Betsy Smith focuses her practice on compliance and class actions involving energy, environmental and natural resources law. She earned her J.D. from the University of Missouri. Smith spent two summers at the firm as a summer associate.

Miranda Swift is a bankruptcy & creditors' rights associate. She earned her J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Missouri- Kansas City. Swift served as a Stinson summer associate in 2022 and 2021, and is a two-time Legal Council on Legal Diversity Scholar.

Michal Whitney is a member of the firm's Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Division and is one of the firm's three Certified Information Privacy Professionals. She earned her J.D. from the University of Kansas. Whitney served as a Stinson summer associate in 2022.

 

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics recently celebrated the last day of #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth by spotlighting Avila University on Linkedin.

Adjunct Professor Larry Altman recently hosted speaker Gary Johnson, a member of the Choctaw Nation. In a gesture of appreciation, Mr. Johnson presented Avila with the Choctaw Nation Flag, recognizing the school's dedicated efforts to respect, honor, and empower Tribal Nations. Avila is actively committed to creating an environment that encourages learning about Indigenous People, including cultural, historical and contemporary experiences.
