Legislative update: May 24, 2024

On May 17, the last day of the 2024 regular legislative session, the Missouri Senate convened, called roll, and immediately adjourned. As a result, the only alternative available to the Missouri House was to take up the Senate bills that previously had been sent by the Senate to the House. The following legislation was Truly Agreed To and Finally Passed, in addition to what was reported in last week’s “Legislative update”: 

• SB 751 (Brown): Enacts provisions relating to distribution of 340B drugs; 
• SB 754 (Luetkemeyer): Modifies provisions relating to public safety; 
• SB 756 (Luetkemeyer): Modifies a property tax credit for certain seniors; 
• SB 802 (Trent): Modifies provisions relating to business investment incentives; 
• SB 872 (Eslinger): Modifies provisions relating to the taxation of utility infrastructure; 
• SB 894 (Fitzwater): Modifies provisions relating to the promotion of business development; 
• SB 895 (Trent): Modifies provisions relating to landlord-tenant actions, including eviction proceeding moratoriums and filings for transfers of real property with outstanding collectible judgments;  
• SB 1111 (Black): Modifies provisions relating to the regulation of childcare; 
• SB 1388 (Razer): Authorizes a sales tax exemption for certain nuclear facilities; 
• SJR 71 (Black): Provides for the levying of certain costs and fees to support the salaries and benefits of sheriffs, prosecuting attorneys, and circuit attorneys; and 
• SJR 78 (Brown): Modifies provisions relating to elections.
